Sometimes, I really wonder that such a wonderful voice could ever be borne.....Yes, a lot has been written about her, still as a devotee, its very difficult not to write anything.....
The songs of hers right from with Husnalal-Bhagatram, Pt Gobindram, Pt Khemchand Prakash, Pt Shyamsunder, Hansraj Behl, Anilda are so mesmerizing that its very difficult to forget.....Sometimes, when I listen to this marvel from Asha-1948....Dur jaaye re...raah meri aaj teri raah se......I remember very well, when I ''purchased'' this song from Null Bazar, Mumbai in 1989....after paying good Rs 100.....those days to pay this amount for one song.....Too big....Quite normal, for me, considering the song !!! That day, I really felt that I was in heavens after getting that prized scalp......The initial taan.....Dur jaaye re....absolute fabulous.....The ups and downs of Lataji were wonderfully picked by Pt Khemchand Prakash.....Stunning was the composition......
Kambakht yeh kabhi besuri hi nahi hoti....were the words of none other than Bade Ghulam Ali Khan....How right was he !!!
